TAT Game point: Joana Ricou’s studio at 300 Meserole! Here’s a note from Joana about what happened at her studio when players came by!
“At my studio, visitors created their “surface marker” portraits by emptying out their pockets, purses and handbags! This exercise parallels how we identify cells in the lab - by looking at what is on their surface. The proteins on the surface of a cell indicate a rich history: who they are, what they are doing, where they have been. It was a lovely experience as visitors surprised themselves (and me) with what they were carrying, from heirlooms to cheap, priceless prizes, from forgotten tickets to useless pens - a treasure trove of history and happenstance. I share my studio with David Bender, also a painter, and we had guest sculptor Tiago Barros showing with us during BOS! “
